At 1 AM, he was rushed to the vet clinic under critical condition. He was diagnosed with worm infection and (suspected) blood infection, severe anemia, hypoglycemia, with a low temperature of 34°C. He is currently confined and is under critical care.
As you can imagine, awaiting his recovery meant a surge in his medical bills. We were given a quote amounting to ₱5950, but as he is still admitted, administering injectables and oral medications, this is expected to add up. If you know me, I am not one to usually ask for help, but I would do whatever it takes for my Jiji to bite his toy fish, wake me half asleep to cuddle in bed, and jump on my arm whenever I am crying or anxious.
He is a sensible kitten that comforts anyone near him who is in pain or crying. Even when I was bringing him to emergency, he mustered his remaining energy to look up to me, rub his head to my arm and let out a soft meow. I was not visibly crying and was trying my best to compose myself, but on the inside I was anxious—and he felt that. He has fought so much illnesses ever since I found him and decided to finally adopt him. Still, at times like this, he remained a sweetheart to me, that I could only whisper, “Save your strength, baby, I am okay. And you will be, too.”
