THE COMPROMISED INTEGRITY OF MAINSTREAM MEDIA IN SINGLING OUT VP INDAY SARA DUTERTE
Naalala niyo po late last year how the mainstream media reported about the unremitted GSIS contributions and loan amortization of DepEd teaching and non-teaching personnel?
Sobrang biased nila sa pagbalita that time, with very critical and malicious headlines, kasama pa nga name ni VP Inday. Tapos pagbinasa mo ang article, daming omission of very important information and context. See attached file sa paliwanag ng COA. Take note, the COA report was for FY 2022, but VP Inday became the Secretary starting July 2022 lamang. Pero ang anggulo ng mga balita nila parang kasalanan na niya lahat. Halimbawa ang mga dahilan kung bakit di naremit sa GSIS:
1) CAR Region- The GSIS contributions and loan repayments of P7,272,291.13 that were deducted from payrolls from CYs 2017 to 2021 remained unremitted due to discrepancies in the personal information of affected employees, no service records, and unmatched remitting agency.
2) Region I- ROP: The unremitted premiums and loan repayments represent the step increment and salary differentials of DepEd RO I employees in CYs 2009 to 2014.
3) And so on...please check the attached file to see all the reasons and explanation. Si VP Inday ba ang may kasalanan?
HOW ABOUT THE CONGRESS, CLEARED BA SILA SA REMITTANCE per COA reports?
This is where the clear double standard of mainstream media is so obvious. NOT A SINGLE ARTICLE was written about the COA observatiopn for the House of Representatives, considering na ilang taon na rin itong problema nila.
See pictures attached for the unremitted mandatory deductions to GSIS, PAG-IBIG, and PHILHEALTH. The total unremitted amount of ₱79,132,779.50 starting Jan 2016 to December 2022.
Don't get me wrong ha, I believe this kind of COA issue should be taken seriously and should be addressed by all the agencies concerned. Pero sa pagbabalita naman dapat wag lang iisa ang pagtutuunan maliciously pa. Naku, this is just one of many pagdating sa COA observations. No organization is perfect kahit nga sa private pa. But we can always call all government agencies to level up their standard of performance lalo na sa financial responsibilities nila.
Well, si VP Inday kasi is a Duterte, at walang pangmeryenda! Samantalang sa Congress, may budget sila sa public relations under the Extraordinary and Miscellaneous Expenses (EME). Tama ba kaya tahimik sila sa mga issues ng Congress?
