Holy sheet, really?! WALANG GUTOM AWARDS ?! Why? For whom?
Did the awardee or awardees eliminate involuntary hunger miraculously, which according to OCTA research stood at 2.9 million Filipino families in 1Q 2024?
2.9 million families multiplied by the average size of a Filipino famiy of 4 would bring in close to 12 million individuals who experienced involuntary hunger at least once during the survey period.
At least once, so we don’t even know how many of fhem experienced it more than once.
Twelve million Pinoys went hungry not because they chose to, but because they were forced to, since they had no choice.
That’s almost 10 percent of our 115 million population — HUNGRY, GUTOM — in what is portrayed by this government as a time of abundance where billions of Pesos of Ayuda are thrown around like pieces of play money turning a whole country into culture of institutionalized mendicancy.
Imagine that. But;
Isn’t it the most fundamental duty of a President to ensure all of his constituents do not go hungry? The same duty sworn to by Governors, Mayors, and everyone else in government?
While I do acknowledge and is thankful to the private sector and socio-civic groups who are doing commendable efforts to help end hunger, and that they should be recognized by everyone not just the government for the noble initiatives, I am appalled when they are being used as advertising collaterals for Bongbong Marcos and his administration.
Two years into BBM’s term it is quite clear this government is all about PR stunts, sloganeering, drama, and shameless showboating.
The Philippines now, is a one big F teleserye that has put us all in some really serious sheet both economically and geopolitically while undermining our national security and sovereignty.
