. In less than two months between mid April and end of May alone this year American tech giants announced billions and billions of US Dollars of investments in the ASEAN region but the Philippines is nowhere to be found on their list of country-destinations.

• Microsoft bared plans to invest US$2.2 billion in Malaysia;

• Microsoft also pledged US$1.7 billion worth of investments in Indonesia;

• Apple the most valuable company in the world recently announced increased investments in Vietnam on top of the US$16 billion it said it had already made a few years back;

• Amazon on the other hand is investing somethig like US$9 billion in Singapore;

• Now Google is said to be investing about US$2 billion in Malaysia according to key government officials there.
