DESCRIPTION
Elementary school student Shouya Ishida used terrible methods to avoid boredom as a wild child. The deaf Shouko Nishimiya transfers into his class, and Shouya and his classmates casually bully her. After her mother alerts the school, he is accused for everything that happened to her. After Shouko leaves, Shouya is at the mercy of his peers. Teachers ignore his cruel exclusion in elementary and middle school. Shouya's childhood misdeeds haunt him in his third year of high school. He resolves to reconcile with Shouko and atone for his past. Koe no Katachi recounts Shouya's happy reunion with Shouko and his honest attempts to rehabilitate himself although plagued by his past.
