Hanako Honda, a loudmouthed airhead, and Olivia, a foreign transfer student who doesn't speak English, engage in a game of "look-the-other-way" during break. Kasumi Nomura, a deadpan loner who is frequently made fun of by her older sister for her propensity to lose games, is incensed by their boisterous conduct. Kasumi resists Olivia's invitation to join the fun because she doesn't want to compete, but she finally joins in and causes her own brand of trouble. The odd trio quickly develops a bizarre camaraderie and decides to create the "Pastime Club," where they are free to carry on with their everyday antics.​

School life will never be boring if the students are attempting to learn English but failing, trying frantically to fit in, or getting caught by teachers at the wrong time.​
