A male ladybug is simply called a "ladybug" or "ladybird." The term "lady" in the name "ladybug" is believed to have originated from the ****** Mary, who was often depicted in medieval paintings wearing a red cloak with black spots, similar to the appearance of a ladybug. Hence, the name "ladybug" has no distinction between males and females.
