Did You Know?

The largest dinosaur ever discovered is Argentinosaurus.

Argentinosaurus was a massive, long-necked dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 94 to 97 million years ago. It belonged to the group of dinosaurs known as sauropods, which were characterized by their large size, long necks, and long tails.

Estimates of Argentinosaurus's size vary, but it is believed to have reached lengths of up to 85 to 100 feet (25 to 30 meters) and weighed anywhere between 70 to 100 tons. This makes it one of the heaviest and longest land animals to have ever lived on Earth.

The first fossils of Argentinosaurus were discovered in Argentina, South America, which is how the dinosaur got its name. Given its enormous size, Argentinosaurus was likely an herbivorous creature, feeding on plants and vegetation to sustain its massive body.
