Surrendering our fear to the Lord is easier said than done. We often feel as though we are strong enough to overcome this emotion on our own, leading to us feeling overwhelmed and defeated. David prays for protection from his enemies, and he surrenders his fear by placing his faith in God. We too can surrender our fears by first admitting we cannot conquer them alone. We have faith that God will help us defeat any fear we have in our hearts.
