Batsu Game : ​

Generally, a batsu game takes place after some sort of competition or bet. The winner forces the loser to participate in the batsu game, which involves doing or experiencing something unpleasant.

There seem to be three distinct periods in the history of Gaki no Tsukai Batsu Games.
Prior to 2003, they are mainly between Downtown, with the punishment being random or loosely based on the prior bet or competition (e.g. what team would win a sports tournament or singing competition) which decided who won/lost.
2003 brought the first "No-Laughing" show format, with the method of deciding the planner(s) and victims becoming slightly more vulgar; russian roulette style games, sports competitions and the like.
