The FBI once investigated a song for two years​

As far as national security goes, songs are typically fairly harmless. But back in the 1960s, parents across the country became upset by a rumor that claimed the song "Louie Louie" by The Kingsmen contained inappropriate subliminal messages. The FBI stepped in and spent more than two years putting the tune through various audio tests.
