Reading, writing, and even speaking are very rare in dreams, because the regions of the brain that are responsible for these functions—Broca's Area and Wernicke's Area—are not as active during sleep. The exception? Anyone whose vocation or avocations entail a lot of reading, writing, and linguistic creativity.
