there is a committee in the senate which has the power to conduct inquiries & investigations and that is the committee on public order & dangerous drugs, it is dressed by the constitution with that kind of power, the media just got it wrong, it is not a hearing like a setup in court but just a senate inquiry

I disagree, total grandstanding lang ginagawa nila, what is the point in all that? In aid of legislation daw pero wala naman silang ginagawang batas. May isang senador pa nga doon nga puro ad hominem lang ginawaga. May inquiry siya sa isa sa mga informant doon na colonel, pinapapili kung alin siya sa dalwa, "B0bo or Corrupt" Ganon ba ang tamang process ng inquiry sa senado? Pag di nila na gustohan sagot diretso contempt ka agad. Kulong without due process.

Kung senate inquiry lang to bakit kung ayaw ng mga senator yung sagot mo e i cocontempt ka. Saka ung mga maliliit na issue kailangan pang isenate hearing katulad ng ung 4k issue, simple labor case nagsayang pa ng pera taong bayan at oras.

you got it wrong, the case is already at court and the senate committee on dangerous drugs is conducting a separate investigation, they were cited for contempt dahil sa obstruction to investigation na ginagawa nila but wala naman verdict na ipakulong, if gusto nila ipakulong for contempt then ipa-file pa nila sa court ang case na iyan, it is just a citation (accusation), kaya nga sabi ni bato monitor the real case at court hayz

mabuti pa yung isa nag láρág pa ng mga documents, ikaw puro salita lang yung pinakulong argument mo, improve yourself na lang, yung at least nakakapagbigay ng whatever is being asked

Agree ako sau boss. Senate is for legislation lang sana pero bat parang may power na silang magkulong? ano un naging judiciary narin ung senate? Palagi na nilang panakot ung contempt na yan kapag ayaw nila ung sagot ng resource person nila(espcially kapag nag invoke right against self-incrimination ka). Ung ngaun batch ng senador lang ko palaging naririnig ung contempt na yan.

Senate is for legislation lang

yes of course, but some legislation includes conducting inquiries and investigation of current problems especially those in relation to public order and dangerous drugs, they need basis as to what law to legislate in order to solve the current issues

anyways, nasa constitution na yung powers na iyan so your views no longer matter unless of course papasukin mo yung senate and initiate your own campaign doon and hopefully be able to amend the constitution
