Romans 10:10 (KJV) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Anyone can utter the words, “Jesus is Lord.” But only when those words come from a heart that trusts in God’s work through Jesus do they become a confession, evidence of saving faith. Without a heart changed by grace, our words are hollow and meaningless. And without a confession, followed by a transformed life, our belief is dead and impotent. Belief and confession, for the Christian, go hand in hand.

Jesus, you are indeed Lord. You have saved and redeemed me. You have made me righteous before God, and I trust in Your blood for my forgiveness, and Your Spirit for my new life. Open my mouth that I may proclaim Your Lordship with boldness, as You lead me in Your ways. In Jesus’ name, amen.
