Starting Apiril 1 this year a new law will be implemented and robots delivering luggage and goods using automation can now be used by people walking along roads and sidewalks around the country. In order for one to use them though, a license will be required.

Last 27th of March, an event from Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry introducing these robots happened. Companies producing cars and electronic goods introduced 8 variants of these robots. A robot from Panasonic Holdings can walk the same speed as the user and can also turn the same way or road as the user turns. It can also stop running once it encounter someone in front of it.

The country thought that these robots will be helpful in instances when people delivering goods is not enough. They also thought that it would be useful for old people to carry their luggage.
