No, it’s not correct. It should be, “The team [that] we defeated yesterday are tough competitors.”

A team is not a person, and the pronoun “whom” is used only when addressing people, not organizations, such as teams.

Note that the relative pronoun “that” can be omitted without changing the meaning or the correctness of the sentence.
