I have some thoughts about this
Is 10 years a blink an eye for you? On my side, it depends on which point of time you are thinking about the question. If you are thinking about the question today up to the future it would take long till we get there. But when we think about it 10 years ago, it would seem just a blink of an eye. In my opinion, this is due to the fact that the time form the past is already absent in our mind and that is why it seems like a blink of an eye than thinking about it to the future cause time toward the future is present in our mind. This is also due to the fact the the time in the present is occupying our mind and that is why it seems long to think about 10 years to the future.
