PHMatthew 24:5 (KJV) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Deceivers never admit that they are lying. The same is true of deceivers that purport to speak in Jesus’ name. They may use the right words, and their ideas may sound compelling, but only Jesus is the way to the Father. Jesus has given us His example and His word so that we may be discerning and wise, and prepared to resist deception.
God, as I study Your word, help me to know You better. Give me wisdom to grow in my knowledge of You, and give me open eyes to see the truth. Help me to measure all that I hear against the truth of Your word, so that I may not be led astray by liars and deceivers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
