PHMatthew 5:6 (KJV) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
We cannot make ourselves righteous. No matter how much we try through our own actions, we will always fall short, left with an unsatisfied hunger. Fortunately, Jesus is prepared to satisfy our hunger, to bless us with His righteousness, which is complete, filling, and wholly sufficient for our needs.
Lord, no matter how hard I try, I can never be righteous on my own. Satisfy my yearning for righteousness from Your infinite storehouse. Only Your goodness is complete, and only Your holiness truly satisfies. So fill me with by Your Spirit, so that I may know the righteousness that comes only from You and be satisfied. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
