You are given a predictive specter that tries to simulate the outcome of the selected action. This ghost also indicates which fighter will be able to act first.
In multiplayer you can do this to determine the most profitable move based on your and your opponent's available actions.
Once both players are locked, the simulation runs until one of the fighters is able to act. Pictured above, the blue stickman can interrupt his attack when it hits an opponent.
If a fighter isn't ready, whether they're still reeling from a hit, or in the middle of an attack, they still get a turn. However, this fighter will have limited defense options and will not have access to most of their moves.
