“Sabi kamo ni Ateneo and Harvard sorry daw at pasensya.”
Aika Robredo, eldest daughter of former Vice President and Angat Buhay chairperson Leni Robredo, reacts to a post circulating on social media following the recognitions that the latter received from Ateneo de Manila and Harvard Kennedy School's Center for Public Leadership.
Riding on the ‘Madumb Leni’ wave thrown against the former top official, the post in question said: “Awards from Ateneo or Harvard do not change our minds about Leni. They change our minds about Ateneo and Harvard.”
In response, Aika has this to say to her mother’s bashers: “the more na tinatawag siyang ‘madumb’ parang dumadami at humahaba ang listahan ng pumapansin sa kanya.”
“Number one, mas na-va-validate yung ginagawa niya. Number two, we can’t change your minds about those schools,” she says.
Aika, who finished her bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University and earned her master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard Kennedy School, stresses it's “pointless” to argue with these type of persons “knowing na hindi mo naman maku-kumbinsi kung ganun na yung point of view nila on certain things”.
A laughing Aika then adds in jest: “Sabi kamo ni Ateneo and Harvard sorry daw at pasensya.” RONALD SIONGCO/GDM
