PHPOLICE MANEUVER FORCES IN HOT PURSUIT OF MAGUINDANAO GUNMEN
The Philippine National Police (PNP) launched regionwide pursuit operations in Central Mindanao against a group of lawless elements who are responsible for the ambush of a police team serving court processes in Ampatuan, Maguindanao on Tuesday morning.
Provincial Mobile Force Companies of Maguindanao Police Provincial Office are leading hot pursuit operations in the areas surrounding Barangay Kapinpilan, Ampatuan, Maguindanao, the site of a bloody ambush on that left two PNP personnel dead.
Police Regional Mobile Forces of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region and Police Regional Office 12 were also alerted to possibly intercept a heavily armed group led by a certain Abdulnasser Saptula Guianid believed responsible for the killing of two PNP personnel including the town Police Chief of Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
Initial reports reaching the PNP Command Center in Camp Crame indicate that the police team was on a mission to serve Warrants of the Arrest in the area when waylaid by the armed group.
“We will verify the identity of the casualties and surely we will bring justice for the death of our own personnel," PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said.
