Inihain ni Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. ang nasabing panukalang batas sapagkat ang pang-gho-ghost daw ay maaaring maging “mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting” sa sinumang nabibiktima nito.

Isinalarawan din ang ghosting bilang isang "form of emotional abuse and happens once a person is engaged in a dating relationship with the opposite *** which affects the mental state of the victim."
