ACOLLISION between a tricycle and a van left three persons dead, including two children ages 5 and 7, and their 29-year-old mother while four others were seriously injured along Cagayan Valley Road in Barangay Buliran, San Miguel, Bulacan, on Wednesday afternoon.
It was learned that all the 7 victims on board the tricycle were heading to a Covid-19 vaccination site in Barangay Poblacion when the accident happened around 1:30 p.m.
Bulacan Police Director Col. Charlie Cabradilla identified the fatalities as AJ Ramos, 5; and Miguel Maniquiz, 7 who were declared dead at San Miguel District Hospital.
Their mother, Monica Ramos, 29, who was also brought to the same hospital but was transferred to PJG Hospital in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, died a few hours later.
Police identified the injured who are being treated at the PJG Hospital as Haidee Francisco, 13; Lara Capulong, 10; Vanessa Francisco, 22; and Jacob Elias dela Cruz, 1.
Investigation showed that the victims, all from Barangay Malubay, were on board the tricycle being driven by 13-year old Haidee and traveling along the national highway of Cagayan Valley Road in Barangay Buliran to have their Covid-19 booster shots when the accident happened.

The victims sustained fatal head injuries and broken bones.
The driver of the van, Angelo Paras, 61, of San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija, voluntarily surrendered to the police and is now detained at San Miguel police station facing multiple homicide and multiple injuries charges.
