🔒 Closed Mount Fuji Climbing Season Begins Anew

The summit of Mount Fuji in Japan can be reached by climbing from the prefectures of Shizuoka and Yamanashi. Climbing the summit can now be done from three towns in Shizuoka beginning this 10th of July 2022 while Yamanashi begins on the 1st of July.

For people climbing Mount Fuji with a height of 3776m, a ritual for the safety of everyone occurs in a shrine in Fujinomiya City. Around 100 people have gathered to witness the event. In the ritual, people wearing white clothes that carries a staff with a height of 3.776m on their shoulders while walking around the shrine can be seen.

Last year, because of problems with new variants of coronavirus, only a small ritual was performed. But now the original ritual can be performed again.

Visitors can climb Mount Fuji from Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures until the 10th of September this year.
