Rarely opens PHC
Ford Philippines has given its customers a sneak peek of the next-generation Everest. We managed to find out about this after we recently checked their website and saw two new models in the 'Coming Soon' section.
Based on what we saw, the new Everest will come in two trims. The SUV will have a Sport and Titanium+ version. Both variants will have the new C-Clamp style headlights and will also feature a new design for the rear. The new LED taillights, on the other hand, will help emphasize the wider muscular stance of the vehicle. Both will feature a new and updated chassis, tougher
suspension, and 800mm water wading.
Two engine variants will be available for the new SUV. Both engines will have a 2.0-liter displacement. One comes in a single turbo setup while the other is a Bi-Turbo version. We're not sure yet whether both will come with the 10-speed automatic or with a 6-speed automatic version for the single-turbo setup. The Everest will feature 6 drive modes, Normal, Eco, Tow Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.
The Sport version will have a blacked-out grille, skid, and side plates. It will also get the Ford logo and Everest badging in black. The blacked-out details continue in the 20-inch wheels which give the SUV a tough athletic look and presence.
The Titanium+ variant, meanwhile, will have a more refined exterior. Chrome elements are plenty on the higher-end model. The grille interlocks with the new distinctive C-Clamp LED headlights, too. Chrome can also be found on the mirrors, door handles, and side-steps to give off that tough but luxurious look. The Titanium+ will also have 20-inch machine-faced wheels.
As for the interior, the Sport will have the Sport badging on the bolstered seats with brushed metal accents to complete the blacked-out contemporary interior. They are designed for maximum on-and-off-road comfort. Over to the Titanium+, it will have an optional Praline interior feature to complement the Ebony interior as brushed metal also makes an appearance to give a bespoke opulent feel to the space.
A panoramic roof is mentioned in the Titanium+ variant but is absent in the details of the Sport. Ford says that it will also have a proper third row with more leg room, easier access, improved seats, and overhead air-conditioning with side curtain airbags as standard in both models.
Both will feature a new fully digital gauge but climate controls seem to be on the analog side. For infotainment, there will be a 10-inch screen for the Sport as the Titanium+ will have a bigger 12-inch design. Both systems will be powered by Ford’s Sync 4A software and will have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Next-generation tech and safety features like Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist 2.0, road monitoring, 360-degree camera system, and evasive action automation looks standard on both. A hands-free power tailgate will also be present in both models.
Further details will be revealed as time passes. The only other feature you can see via the website is the available colors. Hopefully, Ford PH will also reveal the starting price for the new 7-seater.
