The Heart
You've heard that saying about the heart,
About how it wants what's bad for it, but that's the best part.
Hearts kill themselves with love, never hate,
Though dying from love is far worse than from the stake.
My heart is dead, cold and unfeeling,
Killed by what first sent it reeling.
She killed me and broke my spirits,
Shattered my heart and everything in it.
I love her but she doesn't care,
I desperately want to tell her, but I don't dare.
We've grown apart through the years,
But she never noticed my falling tears.
