🔒 Closed Largest Tropical Cyclone in History

Typhoon #Malakas (formerly #BasyangPH) becomes the largest tropical cyclone in the Western Pacific basin that had formed for the month of April in recorded history.

It had reached gale wind diameter of 1,250 km, surpassing the previous record of TY #Isa in 1997 with 1,100 km.

In comparison, Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) has a diameter of 800 km and Super Typhoon Ferdie (Meranti) has 1,200 km.
