Don't Clean the Fish
"Do not judge others, and you will not be judged." Matthew 7:1 (NLT)
It is not our job to point out the faults of others. However, I too often, we feel it is our duty to do so. When God called us to be fishers of men, He did not say, "Clean the fish!” Many who make it their job to point out the faults of others will lose their own souls because they are so blinded by their own self-righteousness. There are people who have left the church because of well-meaning Christians who felt it their duty to point out sin. Only God knows our hearts. We are all on different levels in our relationships with Christ. The more time we spend with Jesus--the more we want to become like Him. The Holy Spirit convicts our hearts to change. A weaker brother or sister can't stand up to the criticism and may fall away! When we see the faults of others-instead of letting them know about it-pray for that person! And I do mean passionately pray! And keep on praying, trusting in our heavenly Father to lead and guide. It's dangerous to try and do the job of the Holy Spirit, and it's not our job to save. Jesus is our Savior! Ask God today ... for strength to stop judging, a kind heart, a humble spirit, and more love for others!
