And everyone who has asked that question so far has never gotten a proper source for it. “Confirmed in the manga later” is not a source without the relevant panels.
So no, unless someone posts a page from the manga that really confirms this, this is really just someone’s opinion that’s getting passed around as a fact.
Regardless, Lucy was the only who had her spell broken. None of the other women did, only Lucy.
That clealy means something.
And I once saw a mangacap of someone saying that only true love can break a love charm. It could have easily been faked so it could make sense as to why Lucy was the only one who’s spell was .
I think in the anime though it was said that’s why and maybe people are getting confused. I don’t know
The only thing mentioned in the manga about the love charm is that it doesn’t work if the person knows about it. Unless there some other translation going around that mentions something about soul mates being about to break a love charm, but no one seems to be able to find it…
My take on this is that Lucy’s a mage who knows about the existence of the love charm as well as how it works, while the others at the scene might very well be non-mages who are not aware about the charm (or mages who might not be aware of it). That is why the charm broke for her when Natsu barged in, and not for the others.
It’d be really nice if a soul mate is able to break a love charm. It’s a nice theory, but my issue with that image is that it states that the manga says that the charm can be broken by the intervention of the soul mate when no evidence of that can be found in the manga. I don’t know if the anime says something about that though. To me, this is just a theory and nothing more.
