as R281 user openwrt as its firmware..
with the amount of free memory on it, can we install LuCi on it to replace its factory user interface??

It depends if they released global firmware fully compatible to modem and router chipset

R281 already uses openWRT Chaos Calmer, doesn't it?
maybe it can be modified with standard openWRT LuCI rather than factory web user interface

How about the r281 firmware there in your country, can u shared screenshot of dashboard, The avail dashboard here, Smart menu dashboard and pldt dashboard menu

the dashboard is similar compare to PDLT R281..
i already managed to open Telnet, thanks to one of the master in this group
I also successfully add AT Command, lock band menu, disable auto update and enabling load balance with balance policy thru mwan3

it requires second internet source thru WAN port..
make sure you get IP address on LTE WAN and Ethernet WAN
then you can change MWAN3 setting thru SSH
