PHThe purpose of this thread is to compile all the tips and tricks posted here in PHC for the PLDT D2K-FT10. So all the credit goes to the original authors. For now, mostly version 2159 po ang makikinabang dito. For higher versions, pa remote nyo nalang through ρáíd service ng mga idol dito to downgrade the device or hintay lang kayo na may mag reveal ng tricks or you may try this downgrading tutorial if v2973 modem mo. This thread will be updated din if may new tricks na for higher versions.
1. For newly bought modems, tanggalin nyo muna simcard para hindi mag auto update to newer version. Mostly v2159 pa yung mga November 2021 modem with green box/packaging.
2. Enable Telnet on your Windows PC/laptop. Kung naka Mac kayo, search nyo nalang.
3. Obtain the SuperAdmin password (until step 6-A). Pwede palitan ang superadmin password under Settings>System>General after mo makuha para mas madali mo matandaan.
4. Disable the OTA updates using PUTTY. Copy and paste nyo lang each line then enter:
5. Verify if successfully blocked na yung future OTA updates (nvram show 0):
6. Open line mo na modem mo using the browser link method (option 1) para mas madali lang. Then set the APN kung ano gamit nyo na network. Basic APN lang muna. Update nalang natin ang list if may improvement using other APN.
7. Set MTU to 1500 to for maximum throughput. Some say changing the IP type to IPv4 will also help stabilize the connection though hindi ko pa na test since I'm still on IPv4v6. Pa confirm nalang dyan sa mga nka try na mag IPv4.
8. Change DNS and block default DNS. Follow the tutorial (Google DNS) or alternatively you may try this method (#116) (Cloudfare DNS w/ QuadX) without setting the default DNS blocking (#101). Test nyo after dito if wala ng mag leak na default DNS:

Additional Tips:
- Resetting your modem (by using a pin to push the pinhole button) or through the Factory Reset in the system settings, will wipe all the changes you made above changing it back to its factory settings. So never forget your Super Admin password para no need to factory reset the device. Rebooting (power cycle) and turning on and off using the button will not factory reset the device.
- Tips to avoid modem crashing while doing speedtest using OOKLA. Or use Netflix's fast.com for speed test.
- How to change the IMEI of D2K-FT10
- Some say that changing to a beefier power adaptor (e.g. 1.5A or 2A) might help in the stability of D2K's LTE Carrier Aggragation. Bumibitaw daw kasi since 1A lang default na power adaptor ni D2K. Though hindi ko pa na test. Pa confirm nalang po sa mga nkapag test na.
- If gusto nyo automatic na method. Download and run nyo yung VBS program to disable the updates, openline and change the DNS to Google's.
- DIY External Antenna. For updating ko pa ito but marami na po tutorial sa Youtube. Post nyo rin kung ano yung best DIY antenna tutorial na nakita nyo.
