KAIDO: THE MYTHICAL MONSTER
Now before I begin, Iād first like to draw your attention towards Kaidoās introduction.
Look at Killerās words. Next:-
The key points I want to highlight here is, he was captured 18 times, defeated 7 times and tortured again and again. And for the last image:-
The narratorās words that one on one he is unbeatable and more importantly the words āAmongst all things that live on the land, in the sea or in the airā. This is going to be an essential part of my evidences.
Arguments For and Against:
Now to first establish whether Kaido has a devil fruit or not:-
We all know about Kaidoās suicidal tendencies. He wants to die and has tried tons and loads of stuff. We also know that a Devil Fruit eaterās inherent weakness is sea water and sea stone. So wouldnāt it just be easiest for him to drown in sea water and commit suicide?
So people say he is not a devil fruit eater.
I will refute this basic argument with a rational statement:-
He so desperately wants to die. Even if he wasnāt a devil fruit eater, he can still drown by stopping his breath in water. Any creature or being can die that way. Another way is to simply go so deep in water that the water pressure crushes his body and organs as we saw in Sanjiās fight against Kuroobi in Arlong Park arc.
SO WHY ISNāT HE DEAD? WHAT EXACTLY IS KAIDO?
I say he is a Devil Fruit eater.
-Then why wonāt he die in sea water?
-He has been captured 18 times, and had execution orders passed against him. If he is restrained in Kairoseki (sea stone), canāt he be easily killed? Doesnāt that weaken him?
The reason for this is simple:-
Refer the Third Image I posted in introduction section. He is āThe strongest ācreatureā among all in the air, land or āseaā!
First he is a creature and what if he can survive in the sea? If thatās true then he is immune to sea water and in turn sea stone which is why he canāt die like a normal devil fruit eater.
Still doesnāt make sense as to how there can be a devil fruit eater without this inherent weakness?
Let me explain:-
ā There are many creatures that can survive in the sea like fish or reptiles or any marine species. What if he possessed a zoan fruit like one of these? Zoan devil fruits are the only ones which grant you powers of creatures and hence if he a zoan sea creature, he can survive in sea water and sea stone and basically loses the inherent weakness.
Kaido is a power hungry yonko who craves war for excitement as seen in the images above. If a Zoan devil fruit granted him such immense power, doesnāt that also explain his obsession to create a zoan devil fruit army.
SMILES are artificial zoans and while I believe they have more weaknesses and are less stronger than natural zoans. This does explain Kaidoās obsession with zoan devil fruits.
Now what zoan type is Kaido. He definitely isnāt a normal zoan with such abilities and neither is he an ancient zoan. He is a mythical zoan. Which fruit I feel he has, Iāll come to that later. To prove this I can give some more examples and evidence:-
1) Jack the mammoth:-
He is 1 of Kaidoās 3 main right hand men known as 1 of the three calamities. He has the ancient zoan Mammoth fruit. Wouldnāt it be fitting if the three calamities were ancient zoans while their boss was a mythical zoan. I have tried to reason Kaidoās fearsome power and indestructible body and will delve more in detail later. Besides this is what Nekomamushi had to say about Jack:-
If ancient zoans are so rare, mythical zoans become the rarest class of fruits which is fitting for a Yonko ruler like Kaido.
2) X Drake:-
Wasnāt Kaido supposed to take out X-Drake? Yet X Drake became his subordinate and a pretty high standing one it may seem as he issued the note to Kaido of Doffyās defeat. This also makes sense since he is a rare ancient zoan which makes him very impressive and appealing to Kaido and his zoan fruit obsession.
3)Marco and Sengoku:-
These are the 2 mythical zoans shown in the series before. We have just seen glimpses of their abilities but their abilities were indeed very unique for example, Sengokuās shock waves or Marco just turning part of his body parts into blue flames of the pheonix. Mythical zoans are very mysterious which is why it makes sense for Kaido to be a mythical zoan considering the hype.
So let us believe that he is a mythical zoan for now but then which type?
Mythical Zoan:- Dragon
Let me explain why Dragon. In the past 10 days I was constantly reading about mythical creatures from various mythologies for atleast half an hour everyday. Iāve read about over 100 mythical creatures but just 1 ticked all the boxes. Iāll explain this in detail in 3 categories, 3 Aās basically with references mainly from Chinese and Japanese mythologies:-
1) Appearance:-
At first look, Kaido looks a slight bit similar to Oars Jr. and Oars in appearance with his horns and massive frame. However I feel it to be more like Marcoās pheonix transformation. Kaido has maintained an appearance where he looks like he is a part human giant and partly a mixture of animals with his skin and horns. He is called by Law as āHyakuju no Kaidoā which literally translates to Hundred beasts. However a liberal interpretation of the term Hyakuju also means āAll of the beastsā. Now what does this have to do with him being a dragon.

Hope the read was worthwhile and you guys enjoyed it.
