🔒 Closed PACMAN'S BROTHER RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR OF SARANGANI

DEPUTY House Speaker and Sarangani Rep. Rogelio Pacquiao has formally launched his bid for the gubernatorial seat of Sarangani in southern Mindanao. He is the younger brother of Sen. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao, known in the boxing world as "PacMan." The two-term lawmaker filed his certificate of candidacy (CoC) for governor on Friday, October 1, at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) provincial office in Alabel town. Pacquiao heads the provincial slate of the party People's Champ Movement (PCM), a local political party founded by Pacquiao, who is seeking the Philippine presidency in the May 2022 elections. His running mate is incumbent Vice Gov. Elmer de Peralta, currently on his second term, while current Gov. Steve Chiongbian Solon eyes a seat in Congress. The PCM's provincial-board slate in the first district includes incumbents Rosemarie Martinez Sayo, Jess Bascuña, Russel Jamora — brother of Pacquiao's wife — Jinkee, and newcomer Arnold Abequibel. For the Second District, the party is fielding incumbents Corazon Grafilo, Tranquilino Ruiz, Irish Arnado, Ephraim Galzote, Joseph Calanao and first-timer Gwyn Singcoy. Rogelio claimed to have enough experience to lead the province after serving two terms in the House of Representatives. "I am happy that we are all here, united to push for more changes and make our beloved province better. Our family and party are very grateful for the trust and support of the people of Sarangani. Rest assured that we will continue to work to uplift the quality of life of every Sarangan," he said. Rogelio added the PCM is fully supporting his brother's bid for the presidency. PacMan formally filed his CoC also on Friday in Manila.
