- Defragmentation of Boot Files – There is no need to defragment files that are most commonly accessed at system startup. The SSD has a completely different way of storing and accessing data. It is therefore recommended to disable this feature. Windows event logging – Windows is always keen to write completely unnecessary data for users. Turning this feature off will ensure your disk life is longer.
- 8.3 Creating a Name – In the past, all of the file and folder names needed to make a short copy to be read by 16-bit DOS applications. This is no longer needed today. So turn off the feature. The disk will not have to store millions of short file names to extend its life.
- AHCI Settings – Advanced settings that must be enabled in the BIOS. SSD Fresh Plus will only tell you if you are using it or not. Be careful not to manipulate AHCI settings unless you know exactly what you are doing.
