practice it on your own. only use your school's class to reinforce your learning. like maybe make a simple game. tho most of the programming stuffs are not doing the code but the maths and logics (and maybe, too, debugging) to make your code

also experience which is very important. can at least say that most cs graduates from universities learned at least 95% of their course from the job they've done rather than their class. so yeah, practice and learn and get tons of experience.
