Nanautzin
Nanautzin (Nanahuatzin) is the Aztec god of self-sacrifice, courage and bravery, and light. Nanautzin was considered the father of the Sun. Long ago, when the gods were creating the world and had not yet given it light, the slight, shy Nanautzin threw himself into the fire when the more outgoing —and arrogant— Tecciztecatl was too afraid to do so.
