PHFirst of all am a victim of this Newborn cancerous platform (am also stumbledupon Vine, Musically, Dubsmash back then) which led me to numerous clips that feed or FYP (For You Page) gives me, and not gonna lie its pretty random and I happen to ONLY use it for general entertainment, music trends (+trendy moves even tho and not a dancer myself), life häçks, and purely for the experience as well. From my point of view I often see this platform as a threat to Youtube (alongside it beta launch of Shorts which its competitor right now on USA) but i digress of moving to Shorts as it does not have the QUALITY CONTENT it needed to standout towards Tiktok which offers much more than cancer. Music/Sounds is Tiktoks lethal weapon making dozens of videos being either duplicates or shitposting about it.
Now my feedback on personal experience by watching both Android & Windows:
Android
1) Mostly optimal cuz its made to be on mobile
2) Videos are highest possible quality upon expectation of download rate and cache data
3) Equipped with feature rich tools with that Plus button
4) Can get you shadow banned (undefined wording; which derives from being seen by followers on FYP) or technically getting totally banned by Tiktok cuz you have offensive Bio/Name/Age restricted contents.
5) Algorithm is similar to YouTube and Facebook Watch since what grabs your interest/s and watch time, it can show more related-ish stuff on your FYP.
6) Doesn't really pause or stutter (unless you have poor internet or unsupported bulk data)
PC (Windows)
1) Opposite to android cuz Portrait mode but still enjoyable to watch, like viewer on Instagram on PC. Still waiting for Windows 11 support on android apps though.
2) Same on top
3) No Upload button whatsoever, just a viewer
4) Same on top
5) Algorithm is a kinda finnicky when am browsing as if its like another algorithm on the FYP section, giving me more randomness than on mobile
6) It does pause amd stutter at some point when browser cache is limited to the desktop version, checked my drivers on internet and tested a couple of downloads and works perfect except for Tiktok, it kinda ruins the moment.
