Hi, guys! How do you license a virtual machine? Is it separate pa on the OS license of the physical server itself? Or is it possible to license the VMs tapos no OS nalang yung physical server? Software is VMware, while OS is Win Svr 2019 Std.

Thanks kung may sasagot!

You can license a VM OS if you log in to your Microsoft account that is linked to your physical OS. It will license as Digital License. Pero if you create a new VM running Windows Server 2019, it will asked for your activation and license key. Kasi separate na siya. It will temporarily activated siya as EVAL (genuine install) if yung license key niyo po sa Physical is VOLUME license, then you can enter it in your created VM OS.

Last thing, sa work mo ba to or home lang? and anong VMware po yung software mo?

Thanks sa response! Sa work po ito. :) And OLP license din yung gamit for OS.

Tama ba understanding ko, if magcreate ng new VM, mag-aask yun ng activation key for the OS? So basically, need ko din magprovide separate OS for the VM?
