👨‍🏫 Tutorial Simple Trick to Keep Shortcut Virus away from your Flashdrive

Para sa mga hindi pa nakaka-alam ng trick na ito, read on.

I'm sure lahat tayo eh nabiktima na ng virus na yan. Not so lethal virus but very annoying.
It hides the contents of your flashdrive at napapalitan ng shortcut. Minsan pa nga eh pati yung shortcut eh naka-hide din. An average computer user will usually think na nawala or na-corrupt na yung flashdrive nila at ang gagawin eh i-reformat ang flashdrive nila. Sayang naman yung laman.

Madali lang naman mag show ng hidden files or magtanggal nyang virus na yan:

1. use this command attrib -h -r -s /s /d drive:\*.* in your elevated command prompt window where drive = the drive letter assignment of your flashdrive.
2. ... or simply use SMADAV.

Kung infected na yung drive then clean it first using the method above.

I have observed that this virus creates 1.) a hidden folder without a name, 2.) a file with a long name and a guid, and 3.) another file like a manifest file that contains the details of all the files that it has hidden.
The idea is to create a file na ginagawa nya in a way na hindi nya kaya i-overwrite.

Here is the trick:
In your flashdrive, create a file with no name and set its attributes to read only/hidden/system file.

Ganun lang ka-simple.
So how do we create a no name file and set its attributes to read only/hidden/system file?
Para sa hindi pa nakakaalam, right click on any empty space inside your flashdrive , create a text file, rename it/remove the .txt extension, press and hold the ALT key and type in 0160 then let go of the ALT key.
Again, its ALT + 0160
So now you have a no name file.
Open a command prompt window and run it as administrator.
Type in the following: attrib +r +s +h drive:\ALT + 0160 where drive: = the drive letter assignment of your flashdrive.
That should make your no name file a read only/hidden/system file.

NOTE:

• file ang i-create nyo, huwag folder
• hindi nyo itataype yung words na ALT + 0160 sa command prompt, gagawin nyo yan, just like what you did nung ni-rename nyo yung text file

Now your flashdrive is safe kahit saan nyo isaksak na computer. Kung ma-infect pa rin ng another type of virus naman, then that's another story.
That is where SMADAV always comes in handy. Marami nyan dito. Search nyo lang.

Kung gusto mo pa ng extra protection pa para sa new folder.exe virus naman, gawa ka pa ng ibang files na walang walang laman dyan.
