Unpopular opinion: go for the Mi Stick. Ok na sya pang-IPTV or Netflix streaming, pero lag talaga pag nagnanavigate sa menus. Almost 3 years old na ung Mi Box so you're better off sa Stick na nirelease lang last year. Plus masyadong maraming bugs sa Mi Box (broken audio, video artifacts) na hindi naman naayos ng updates. If you can spare a bit more, I recommend checking out the Chromecast with Google TV.

Stay away from generic Chinese boxes like the MXQ. They don't have the Google-certified Android TV OS.

Some people say bad things about the sticks but I will tell you that it depends on what kind of place you live in. If you're in a nice condo with aircon those could work out well for you. They do tend to run a little hot compared to the boxes because it's harder for the heat generated by the CPU to dissipate. If you are using it in a room with no aircon maybe a box is a better investment.

Unless you have decent tech skills and are DIY minded. Then you can buy the boxes with Amlogic SOCs like X96 Mini and flash a certified OS onto it. I wouldn't recommend it to people who aren't good with computers. I think it's a good business idea for people who are to buy those, flash the OS, and sell to others who don't know how to do it.
