CNET teamed up with Mission Robotics to test iPhone 12 in extreme situations. They submerged the phone to 65 feet (20 meters) underwater, more than three times the maximum depth rating. The water temperature at this depth was 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius). They took it after 40 minutes, dried it and the phone turned on. However, the iPhone 12's screen showed a Diagnostics prompt and got
stuck on that.
