A policeman is undergoing investigation after a fugitive he arrested in Quezon City reportedly escaped after tricking him into buying a sanitary napkin. The police officer, a 36-year-old corporal, was relieved from his post at the Batasan police station 6. He is facing a complaint for evasion through negligence under the Revised Penal Code. 63 American companies filed for bankruptcy in August alone, including several large corporations with over $1 billion in liabilities.
US bankruptcy filings spiked in August after a July slowdown, leading to the highest total for the first eight months of the year since 2020 and the second-highest since 2010. There were 63 bankruptcy filings in August of public and certain private companies, up from a revised 49 in July, according to the latest data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. Twin LPAs form around Philippines: PAGASA
The first LPA is inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), located 440 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora. It has low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours. The second LPA is outside the PAR located 2,145 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas. It has a moderate chance of developing into a cyclone. China Detects séálth Jets Using Starlink Satellite Network
A Chinese scientist and his team launched a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone off the coast of Guangdong. The drone was roughly the size of a bird and had a radar cross-section similar to a s†éálth fighter. Despite its s†éálth characteristics, the target unexpectedly appeared on the screen even though the ground-based radar did not emit any radio waves that would have resulted in an echo. The scientists explained that this was possible because the drone was illuminated by electromagnetic radiation from a Starlink satellite passing over the Philippines.
