Yes use CNN model OP, yan din gamit ko sa Prac 2 namin previously. Although what classifications are you trying to achieve for? Btw the basics nyan is to use Python Notebook for executing Tensorflow commands, and Keras... then search ka for existing datasets (or gawa ka custom datasets mo) sa Kaggle or Roboflow. Separate them into Training and Validation folder then train mo na sila, preferably gumamit ka ng PC na may GPU or gamit ka nalang din Google Colab. After creating your own CNN model is you evaluate its performance on its overall Accuracy, F1, Precision, Recall and Confusion Matrox which you can use to extrapolate in your Statement of the Problem and Research Results and Discussions.

Basta if more on object-oriented ka, use YOLO, or if more on patterns ka then use CNN algorithm... Haha yun lang siguro masasabi ko muna, masakit siya sa ulo pero worth it sa huli :> goodluck OP
