Fans of the surprise hit game "Flappy Bird" will no longer see the title when they search their app markets for it, but they could settle for a few less-than-stellar clones.
A report on tech site The Next Web cited one game, "Flying Bird 3D," that imitated several aspects of the extremely difficult game.
"Flying Bird 3D - this is for all you Flappy Bird Fans ... The hardest most addictive game in the world - FACT (well, not really a fact, but try it, you will see!)," said the description on the game's Google Play page.
The game has received mixed reviews, with many calling it a "slower" and "more complicated" version than the original.
The data on the page indicated the game was updated Feb. 7.
Dong Nguyen, the creator of the original "Flappy Bird," had said he would take down the game and indicated he would not sell it to publishers.
