does this work on ubuntu sofware? can someone recommend a software that does?

so itried using the old webcam and it comes out as black. apparently i need to use a usb extension with 'booster' i got 10 m and it worked . i ave yet to dl the soft wares u recommended. thank you to both of you ps. im now hooked with ph corner. ive tried other sites but they weren't as helpful...

is this possible in ubuntu? i heard ubuntu is better for old systems since its lightweight making the old laptop more efficient. my project actually is to make an old laptop a answering/fax machine and install a web cam used as cctv. am i in the right track figuring out wb cam/cctv first?

i want to use an old a4tech webcam in my old celeron laptop(which i also want to use as answering machine/fax how to do this?) . i was told til 3 m lang pede ang haba ng usb cable mga 7 m ang layo ng laptop sa pag lalagyan ko ng webcam pede ba to? and what software para may motion detection...

i was told ung webcam upto 3 m away from laptop lang pede due to power. pag ang cable daw longer than 3 m it would loose power. i want to use my old webcam as cctv. the distance the usb would have to travel is about 7 m. is this possible

I dont lug aound my pc when i leave the hse. Just the tab and cp. Cant use cp as hotspot using opera 15?.
